AV-PL-ROAD tests
Last week, the researchers from the Motor Transport Institute conducted tests of selected driving autonomizing systems. The tests simulating road conditions were carried out at the premises of a professional training centre. The data obtained can contribute to the faster development of autonomous vehicles and shorten the process of implementing this technology into vehicles available to individual users.
Road tests are part of the AV-PL-ROAD project - Polish Road to Autonomization of Road Transport, which is implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Motor Transport Institute and the Warsaw University of Technology.
The aim of the AV-PL-ROAD project is to create guidelines for, inter alia, legal regulations to introduce autonomous vehicles on the Polish roads. As a result of the project, recommendations will be made for authorities, institutions and road managers regarding the implementation of autonomous vehicles in road traffic in Poland. As part of the project, it is also planned to develop a catalogue of international good practices in the development of regulations enabling the admission of autonomous vehicles to be operated in traffic and road infrastructure adapted to this. One of the results of the project will also be the creation of the Competence Centre for Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (CK PAP).
